Plain Cuteness

Look at Porter sitting! Without his boppy he only last at most 15 seconds or so, but with it he will last however long he wants! I think all that weight around his belly is helping him to learn to sit! Haha!

Indiana fell asleep in her princess chair the other day. She LOVES her bear and has to have it with her most of the time. She is such a sweet girl.

2 Firsts!

So, both Indy and Porter had some firsts this week. Indiana has started potty training this week! It is her first time actually LOVING sitting on the toilet and asking to go potty! She has gone pee on the toilet twice before but both times were quite a while ago and it was our idea for her to sit on the toilet, not hers. She has been askng to go quite a few times during the day and sometimes she does "go" and sometimes she doesn't. I am so excited that she started this herself! Porter had rice cereal for the first time this week! He wasn't too sure about it at first but now he loves it and doesn't even get that messy eating it! Yay for firsts!

4 1/2 Months!

Porter is now 4 1/2 months old! Time sure does fly! He had his appointment this morning and he weights 17 lbs 5 oz and is in the 80th percentile. For height and his head circumference he is in the 75th. I just still cannot believe how much he weighs! And he has actually LOST weight! A couple weeks ago he was a little over 18 lbs, but he is being more active now in his entertainer/jumper so he is slowly slimming down. I have to admit though, I kind of don't want him to! I LOVE his softness and rolls! He can sit on his own unassisted for about 10 seconds, then falls over. He can roll back to front and front to back. He sleeps so good at night. I put him to bed at about 8pm and he wakes up at 8am with only one feeding in the night. He does sometimes sleep through the night without a feeding, but that has only happened about 5 times in the last few weeks. His day naps are still not that great. He does sometimes take a long afternoon nap, but the rest are only about 1/2 an hour long. Hopefully that will change soon!

Yay for learning to sew!

Okay, so this isn't the first time I have sewed, but it has been a LONG time since I have! My mom gave me one of her old sewing machines before Porter was born. This is called a "Bandana Dress" made from none other than bandanas! It was super easy. Indy wore it for church today but at home she loves to wear nothing but a diaper, so I wasn't able to get a picture of her in it because we were running late today and then once we got home she just wanted to be naked again. Oh well. I used extra ribbon I had to make her a matching bow and to make the outfit modest I had her wear a white t-shirt underneath. I thought she looked super cute in it!

Deoderant

Indiana likes to put on her daddy's deoderant. I finally had my camera out to catch her in the act! Haha! (Yes, her hair is a rat's nest. This was early in the morning and I just clipped her bangs back real quick so she could see.)

Bathtime!

These pictures were taken last Sunday. This is how he takes his baths now and he LOVES it! He kicks and squeals and laughs so hard!

Princesses

Yesterday was my birthday and I got the best present ever! Our ward had a Mother/Daughter Princess Dinner. We were supposed to play dress up and so me & Indy had matching outfits. It was so much fun! I really enjoyed going "out" with my little girl last night. I hope we can have more outings like that as continues to grow!

I Couldn't Help It!!!

I have been wondering if Porter would make a cute girl or not, so I put him in one of Indy's outfits that was my favorite when she was little. The last picture is of her in it when she was 4 1/2 months old. Porter is only 3 1/2 months old and fills out the outfit nicely! Haha! He is such a chunk! I love my kids.

Look at that smile! I just laugh everytime I see it! Haha!

He just LOVES his hands!

My beautiful little Indy in the same outfit. She was so much more cooperative taking pictures when she was little than he is.

I like them Big...I like them Chunky!

And now a post about this little chunk! I can't believe how big he is! According to our scale he weighs around 16 lbs! I wonder if it is right. He really is a huge chunk! But we love him! He still has colic pretty bad. He always wants to be held and cries a lot. He does have some good days though where he is really calm, but those are usually followed by really bad days. I feel so bad for him! When Devin gets home from work he automatically expects it to have been a hard day with him, so he usually takes him for me and tries to comfort him to give me a break. But we are having more good days than we used to with Porter. I think he is slowly growing out of his colic. They say babies usually are over it by the 4th month and he turned 3 months old last week. We'll see. He hates tummy time, but when he is on his tummy he holds his head up so good. He just loves to stand, so he likes to be in his entertainer, but doesn't last very long. He ends up crying and wanting to be held, of course. He also likes to sit in his bumbo seat in front of the mirror in our bedroom and smiles at himself. He really has a sweet spirit and I love him so much!

Nutella

This little girl LOVES Nutella! She eats it right out of the jar!

She has been so cute lately with playing pretend a lot more than usual. She has a polar bear that she picked out when we went to Sea World last year and she is obsessed with it. Well, that bear has now become her "baby." She puts him down for naps, in Porter's swing and entertainer, and she tries to put diapers on him too! She also throws him down the stairs and bangs his head against the wall so she can play the "mommy" role and ask, "Okay? I sorry. No cry." And then she kisses and hugs him. It is too funny! Sometimes she gets herself in situations where she gets stuck and needs help, so she will then put her bear in that same situation later and ask, "Stuck? Help?" Haha! She makes me laugh! While we were in Mexico visiting at the beginning of this month she started saying "Want you" but sounds more like "Chew." She says that when she wants to be held. She knows all of her shapes and primary colors. She has 4 Barney videos and can act out 3 of the 4 videos. The 4th one is still fairly new to her, but she is learning it! She knows the dances, songs, and even some of the lines they say. She has a really good memory. When people come over, even if it is her first time meeting them, she knows whose shoes are whose when they take them off. She is never wrong. She is really observant too. My sister-in-law Katie has some green and white basketball shorts that she wears and Devin has some too, but he never wears them. Well, I just put them on yesterday to be comfortable and she pointed to my shorts and said, "Katie's." She thought I was wearing Katie's shorts! Okay, sorry I am rambling on so much. I am just so proud of her!

My Chunky 2 Month Old

Porter turned 2 months old on Tuesday and had his checkup yesterday. He is 23" long and weighs 13 1/2 lbs!!! For height he is in the 50th %ile and for weight the 90th! Complete opposite of what Indy was. It is funny how different they are.

4 Wonderful Years!

Happy Anniversary to us!!! Yay! 4 years ago today we were married and sealed in the Albuquerque, NM temple. Marrying Devin was the best decision I have ever made. I actually had to convince him to marry me! We had been dating for almost 9 months and we still hadn't said "I love you" to each other. I had wanted to say it to him but at the same time wanted him to say it first! He always avoided the marriage topic in conversation. Finally one day I told him, "Give me one good reason you don't want to marry me." He couldn't think of one! He said he did want to marry me but was just scared because I was the first girl he dated since coming home from his mission. He knew he loved me but was also worried that his family would think he was moving too fast. That day we decided to get married! He officially proposed to me on January 4th at Olive Garden, after we dropped my little brother off at the airport to go on his mission. Our love has grown so much over the past 4 years and has created two beautiful little children. We are excited to grow old together! I love you Devin!

More Recent Pictures!

This past weekend my mom came with my little brother & sister to visit! We had fun! On Saturday we drove to Superior, AZ to watch a tree climbing competition. It was pretty cool to watch those guys. The weather was beautiful there and the kids had so much fun playing outdoors. I wish my mom could have stayed longer, I never really get to see her. But I am grateful for the time that we did get to spend together! Indiana loved having McKree & Cleary here to play with. It's nice that she has an aunt & uncle that are close in age with her!

This picture was taken last Sunday. She loves kissing Porter!

Surprisingly Similar

Below are pictures from when Indiana was born and when Porter was born. I never realized how much they looked alike at birth. Indiana now looks almost identical to me when I was little, and I thought Porter was looking more like Devin. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

My Cute 18-Month Old

Indiana turned 18 months old last Sunday! She is now in nursery at church and she is loving it! She had a checkup yesterday with her doctor and for height she is off the charts. For weight she is in the 50th percentile at 25 lbs. I swear it feels like she weighs more than that! I guess I am just used to carrying around Porter now. I think she looks like she weighs more than that too, but she doesn't. She is so good with Porter and is being an awesome big sister! I am so grateful for her and that a year and a half ago she came into this world! She can say so many words now! Of course sometimes Devin & I are the only ones that understand her. She knows her shapes like circle (gircle), square (qware), triangle (anal--hope that word doesn't offend anyone!), star (tar), and heart (she says that one right!)! She doesn't care too much for learning her colors. She can even put her own shoes on now, although not always on the right feet. I know every parent thinks their kid is the smartest, and I do too! I think I always will, even if when she is older and is failing every class I will still think she is smarter than every other kid! I guess it's a mom thing.

Dad's boots are the funnest shoes to wear!

More Pics

Here are some more recent pics of Porter & Indiana. I really love having a newborn in the house again, however Porter has colic ten times worse than Indiana did! Poor guy! He cries and screams most of the time and just wants to nurse, which makes his stomache hurt even worse. I feel so bad for him and I can't wait for him to grow out of it! But I am still so grateful to have him in our family and wouldn't want it any other way! Indiana is loves him too and gets so concerned when he starts to cry. She goes up to him and tries giving him his pacifier and says, "No cry baby" in a really sweet voice. I love these two!!!

Giving us a smile! He looks so much like Devin!

So excited to hold him!

So sweet and precious!
